Title Of Article :
Investigating Micro-Climatic Effects of Urban Green Spaces; The Case of Bornova, izmir
Abstract :
Objective: The present study is examining the relationships between the climate components and urban green spaces that function as control parameter in decreasing of urban temperatures based on real-time data. Material ve Methods: The main material of t h e research consists of an urban district in Bornova that contains 3 large urban green spaces and their immediate vicinity. The meteorological conditions of the green spaces and their spheres of influence have been analyzed using permanent and mobile station measurements. The meteorological data collected from these measurements has been evaluated with the help of statistical analyses. Results: It has been determined that all the green areas that are subject to the research have different climatic conditions from the urban landscape in their surroundings by creating their own meteorological conditions. The greatest temperature difference between the green areas and the immediate surroundings urban landscapes is calculated annual average of 2.81 °Cat the Ege University Forest which has coniferous and dense tree coverings. Conclusion: In conclusion, various recommendations in terms of planning and design considerations, and legal and managerial aspects have been presented both for further studies and developing urban climate maps.
