Abstract
Myocarditis is a condition characterized by inflammation and degeneration of myocardial fibres. It shows variable findings changing from asymptomatic clinical course to heart failure and sudden death. The cornerstone of the management is supportive treatment including anticongestive medications and, if required, mechanical ventilation. The appropriate time for discontinuation of those medications following recovery from the disease is unclear. Herein, in order to emphasize the importance of being deliberate about cessation of anticongestive drugs, we present a girl who recovered from myocarditis five months after the diagnosis but had recurrence of heart failure following discontinuation of medications.
