Abstract
This study has been made to determine how the interaction between oral and written culture affects speaking and written skills. In the research, formation of oral culture and its effect to written culture have been examined and the thoughts of some linguists, sociologists and analytical philosophers, who have studied on this issue throughout the history, have been evaluated. The interaction between oral and written culture has been evaluated as related to the acceptance of speaking as sound, the acceptance of communication as media tool, relation between language and culture, and the effect of this situation to acculturation. The interaction between oral communication and written communication is seen as a convoluted cycle in improving of speaking and writing skills. Written culture have been so expanded since the invention of printing press, and technology have been so developed, hence oral culture in today has gotten second innovation and transformed to information. This transformation has directed the individual to use written expression skill instead of speaking.
