Pre-service Teacher’s Arguments about Hereditary Similarities and Variations
Abstract :
In this study, pre-service teachers ‘arguments about hereditary similarities and variations were investigated during teaching activities based on hypothesis testing process. This experimental study was carried out with pre-service teachers (n=70) enrolled in a science course at a university in Turkey. The data were collected with worksheets used in focus group interviews and analyzed by content analysis. At the end of the study, pre-service teachers’ false and inconsistent arguments about hereditary similarities and variations were revealed and based on this, finding implications for teaching of hereditary transmission were suggested.
