KINEMATIC OF THE TAKEOFF PHASE OF THE LONG JUMP: A COMPARISON OF TWO DIMENSIONAL AND THREE DIMENSIONAL ANALYSES
Abstract :
The purpose of the study is to determine the analyse protocols by analysing the segment lengthsusing kinematics parameters that result of the 2 and 3 dimensional analysis of takeoff phase in the long jump. An elite long jumper participated in this study (Height = 1.75 m, Weight = 75 kg). Four high-speed cameras operating at 100 frames per second were used to record the long jumper’s attempts (Basler A 602f high speed camera). Captured 2 and 3 dimensional views digitized in SIMI Motion 7.3 (SIMI Reality Motion Systems GmbH-Germany) by tracking 8 anthropometrical markers. Segments lengths were calculated in 2 and 3 dimensional respectively. As a result; the amount of error between the real segment length and computed segment length using kinematics parameters of 2 and 3 dimensional analyses, 3 dimensional analyse results showed least error than 2 dimensional analyse. As 2 dimensional analyse results compared to each other; the camera was placed in perpendicular the motion plane showed least error than the camera placed with an angle to the motion of plane.
