Abstract
The aim of the study is to research the effects of power bases used by managers on organizational commitment of employees. To accomplish this aim, a survey was conducted to collect individual level data from 354 participants in public and private sectors on a) impressive personality, expert, positional and economic power perceptions, and b) effective, continuance and normative commitment levels about organization. Based on the results of Structural Equation Modeling method, it is found that impressive personality and expert power perceptions affect affective, continuance and normative commitment positively. Furthermorepositional and economic power perceptions affect affective and continuance commitment positively while affecting the normative commitment dimensions negatively.
