EFFECTS OF THE PROPERTIES OF DESIGN AND CONTENT OF THE WORKS NAMED ‘FADİŞ’ AND ‘KÜÇÜK PRENS’ ON THE EDUCATIONAL MANNER OF THESE WORKS
Abstract :
In this study, the novels named Fadiş and Küçük Prens which were chosen from the Turkish and French child literatures were studied in a comparative manner. It attempted to investigate the effects of the design and content properties of both books on the educational manner of the works. For this aim, these books, which were in the classics of French and Turkish literatures, were examined from the viewpoint of formal (external) and content properties. These sample books were evaluated in terms of the design properties such as size, quality of paper, cover-binding, the layout page, letters and pictures and in terms of content properties such as plot, theme, character, language and rhetoric, and message. The study specifically dwelled on the contribution of these two dimensions on the educational manner of books.
