SOCIAL STUDIES PRESERVICE TEACHERS’ VIEWS ON NATURE OF SCIENCE AND REFLECTING NATURE OF SCIENCE ON LEARNING-TEACHING PROCESS
Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to investigate the views of pre-service teachers on the nature of science, need of the nature of science in the classroom practices, and teaching nature of science at the undergraduate programmes. This research is a case study in which embedded “single case design” was used. This research was conducted eleven voluntary pre-service teachers who are third and fourth grade students at Pamukkale University, Faculty of Education, and Department of Social Studies Education. Participants had a point of views about nature of science, and gave examples to explain the effects of societies on science. In contrast, they had difficulties to define the concepts of nature of science.
