Abstract :
Increases in the needs for raw materials begin with the industrial revolution. The international trade that gained momentum with globalization, increasingly strengthened the importance of energy resources. Increasing energy needs, has led countries have also sought alternative sources of energy. In addition, the countries energy policies have a great importance not only in terms of national economies of countries and also for the role of political and international relations in the world of a country. In this study, the importance of alternative energy policies that is growing in recent years, will be examined in terms of importance for Turkey s economy. The potential of alternative energy sources, its efficiency, and its share in the world country s and Turkey’ economy will be introduced. By evaluating of the alternative energy development or the implementation of incentives that will provide to use maximum benefit and by supporting a variety of datas, to compare against other countries in the world by examples, Turkey s energy policies will be discussed in terms of its past, present and future.
