RACE AND RELIGIOUS INTERSECTIONS THROUGH MARRIAGES

The relationship between “racism” and “religion” goes back to the depths of past when racism and religion were a kind of xenophobia involving the fear of persons labeled as “foreign.” John Bunyan has said, “Religion is the best armor that a man can have, but it is the worst cloak,” because in religious interactions through marriages it is up to the couples to use their religion as a cloak or an armor against each other and their offspring. How ever religion may be used, religious intersections can be another form of xenophobia or altruism for the sake of the organization of culture, racial and national identity that has begun to be reshaped by the intersections and interactions between different cultures, races and countries. This paper aims to focus on the race and religious interactions and intermarriages between different ethnic and racial groups, by discussing the possible diversities that will come with race and religious intersections through marriages.
