Abstract :
In this study, views of science of life teachers on instructional strategies, methods, and techniques were investigated both in terms of literature and their applications in the classroom. In this way, it was aimed to obtain information about the practical reflection of the approach adopted. In this descriptive research, it was acted within the framework of purposive sampling type and 22 teachers from four different primary schools were determined as participants. Data were collected by semi-structured interview technique and analyzed descriptively. Results revealed that primary school teachers’ definitions of the concepts of the related issues above were inaccurate and incomplete and the most commonly used method in this course is lecturing. Participants’ reasons for preferring this were lack of information in textbooks and its simplicity. In addition, the participants believed in the importance of using student-centered strategies, methods, and techniques but due to various problems, they couldn’t put these into practice.
