Abstract :
Today Ayasuluk Tepesi located in the county town of Selçuk, İzmir, has been more widely known with an extant fortress dated to the period of the Aydinids, and the basilica of St Jean belonged to the Byzantine Period. Besides this common history of the settlement, the mound settlement under the Fortress, proves the process of inhabiting which goes back to the Late Chalcolithic Period. The archeological materials dated to the Late Bronze Age, have been revealed during the researches at the different points of the Ayasuluk Tepesi. The subject finds do not only play a significant role in the Late Bronze Age material culture of Western Anatolia, but also contributing to the debates about Apasa.
