Abstract
Initial public offering is a new source of fund for enterprises. In order that a public offering is deemed to have been successful, public offering process should be carried out successfully. At the study, the equities offered to the public for the first time between 1990 and 2008 in the istanbul Stock Exchange Market (IMKB) and especially price performances of HALKBANK, and the movements on the following days are studied. Consequently, it is put forward that in general there is a positive beginning and a positive continuity in the performance of equities.
