EFFECT OF MOBBING ON WORK-RELATED BURNOUT: A SURVEY ON TEACHERS IN BATMAN PROVINCE OF TURKEY
Abstract :
Negative behaviors which are exposed in workplace have negative effects on employees, organizations and the society. Mobbing and work-related burnout which is likely caused by mobbing are important themes and fields of study of modern human resource management. This study explores level of mobbing and work-related burnout perception of teachers, whether differences exist in perception of mobbing and work-related burnout according to demographic variables, and relation between mobbing and work-related burn out. The findings of the research reveal that there is a significant relation between teachers’ work-related burnout perceptions and their marital status, age and seniority variables. Apart from this, there is a significant relation between teachers’ mobbing perception and their gender 38 and ages. Besides, there is a positive and significant but poor relation between the perceptions of mobbing and work-related burnout. That is, mobbing perception has a positive and significant effect on burnout.
