Abstract :
BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) take attention with the rapid and significant economic growth in recent years. In this study investigated the relationship between human capital and economic growth in the BRICS countries and Turkey between 1995-2012. For this purpose, Bootstrap Panel Granger Causality Analysis was used that taking into account between heterogeneity of countries and horizontal cross-section dependence which was developed by Kónya (2006). There is a positive causality only between Brazil and Russia according to the analysis results. There is no important causality in other countries. The success of the BRICS countries to appear to be related investing in human capital rather than their rising geopolitical position, natural resources and gained of young labour surplus.
