THE PLACE OF BREATHES ANTOLOJI COMPILED BY DERVISH RUHOLLAH AHMET RIFKI BEKTASHI IN TURKISH MUSICOLOGY
Abstract :
This study aims to explore the importance of the Bektashi Breathes anthology that is one of the sources of Turkish musicology in the field of Turkish religion music. Anthology was written by a Bektashi Baba. The author said that those breathes are still played in the lodges that he attended. It was seen that theses on Bektashi Breathes have not been referenced and evaluated. The first persons who benefited from it in the field of Turkish literature are S. Nuzhet Ergun (1949 and 1955) and Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı (1963). The most important aspect of the book is the first time compiled Bektashi Breathes and published in 1921. However, lack of musical note and musical terms like composer, makam and usul shows the relationship music of lyrics within, and it has led to negligence in academic works in the field of Turkish musicology. In fact, it is remembered that composed of Bektashi speech/hymns is called Turkish “nefes” (Bektashi breath) and it was began to publish Bektashi Breathes with writings of Ms. Cavide Hayre Bektashi in 1917 and ongoing with works of Huseyin Yaltırık in 2002. In this paper, Bektashi breathes in this first published book about it is to compare with their works and it is to refer their musical notes where and discographies, so that, you will find the important of this book in history of Turkish religion music.
