Abstract :
In this study,we are performing a research on the views of Turkmen Alewis living in Kangal, district of Sivas, where very rich religious and social manifestations of Alewi culture have been experienced. We are investigating their views about institutionalized traditional Alewi organizations in terms of Sociology of Religion. We have identified hearth system as traditional Alewi organization and investigated Turkmen Alevi Hearths in Kangal. The Sivas Province certainly has a very important place for Alewi-Bektashi tradition. If we say that there is a separate place of Kangal District of Sivas Province in Alewi-Bektashi Tradition,we aren t wrong. We can say that most of Alawi groups are Turkoman living in Kangal District. Most of Alewi villages of Kangal District s population were formatted from New-City Turkomen. Alewi Hearts have a big effect in formation of Alewi-Bektashi tradition and in their traditional organization type. We observed so many Alewi Hearts in and around Kangal. But unfortunately,a lot of Alewi Hearts couldn t keep their activities until today. We can say about the ending of the hearts activities that the most important reason is that heart families in the villages moved to metropolitan cities in Turkey or European countries. In this study,we have given extensive information about 5 active Alewi hearts we observed. These Alewi hearts are Shah Shazi Heart,Garip Musa Heart,Father Mansur Heart,Shah ̄brahim Wali Heart and Father Samut Heart.
