Abstract :

Haci Bektash Veli,the founder of Bektashi sufi order,was one of the great sufi spiritual leaders who has been morally and spiritually educated by the grand Sheiykh Ahmed Yesevi. He built his Dervish lodge in Hacibektash Town near the city Nevsehir,which has been a center of attraction for centuries and continued to serve until 1925. After a long time period of disuse,it began to serve again as a museum on 16 August 1964. Since then,the 16-17-18th of August has been celebrated as Haci Bektash Veli Commemoration Ceremonies and Cultural Activities and panel talks,exhibitions,concerts,theater and semah activities has been performed under this topic. Hacibektash has been a very important platform that brings together different faiths and cultures from all around the world. Commemoration activities are followed closely by the media and this interest is an important opportunity for the promotion of Haci Bektash Veli values. The right and maximum use of this opportunity is only possible through the use of an effective mass communication strategy. This research is a modest effort to analyze how Haci Bektash Veli Commemoration Ceremonies and Cultural Activities are presented in the mass printed media and how the public is informed by the media. We hope that findings and comments of our study will contribute to the creation of better communication strategies in disseminating the values and teachings of Haci Bektash Veli.
