Abstract :
In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of different promalin doses and heading treatments on lateral branching in four pear cultivars. Doses of 0, 100, 250, 500 and 1000 ppm of promalin was applied in early July and heading treatment was examined 80 cm above the soil level in early July. Promalin treatments had positive effect on both lateral branching and growing characteristics. Whereas, heading treatment statistically did not increase the nursery tree growing and lateral branching based on control treatment. It was found that the highest percentage of branching was 84.37% from Morettini cultivar with 1000 ppm promalin treatment. It was also found that the treatment with 750 ppm promalin produced the highest shoot length as 23.40 cm. While the highest nursery tree was obtained from Akça cultivar with 750 ppm promalin treatment (135.19 cm), the lowest nursery tree was obtained from Morettini cultivar with 1000 ppm promalin treatment (93.26 cm).
