Title Of Article :
Determination of Glycoconjugates in Helix lucorum’s Salivary Gland by Lectin Histochemistry
Abstract :
In this study taking into acconut the size and morphological features, the five types of cells were determinated in salivary glands of Helix lucorum. These cells were called as type 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. As a result of the counts it was idendified that type 1 cell was the highest number and type 3 cell was the lowest number. As a result of the measuring the diameters of the cells it was detected that the largest cell was type 1 and the smallest cell was type 3. Type 1 and 2 cells showed the pozitive reaksiyon aganist the all of the applied lectins that Dolichus biflorus (DBA), Ulex europaeus (UEA-1), Arachis hypogaea (PNA), Canavalia ensiformis (Con A), Bandeiraea simplicifolia (BSA I-B4), Triticum vulgare (WGA). While it was observed that these two types cells were given the weak reaction aganist the BSA I-B4, the strong reaction aganist PNA and DBA. Type 3, 4 ve 5 cells did not showed reaction aganist the any of the applied lectins.
