Abstract
In this study, The adsorption of SO2 on natural (B) obtained from Unye region and on forms activated at 90 °C for 2 h (1 M (BH-1) and 2 M (BH-2)) was investigated at 20 °C and 106 kPa. Natural and acid activated bentonite samples were characterized by using XRD, TG-DTA and nitrogen (N2) adsorption methods. It was found that both the specific surface area values and the SO2 adsorptions of bentonite samples increased as the acid concentration increased. It was determined that adsorption capacity of SO2 on natural and the acid activated bentonite samples increased in the order of B BH-1 BH-2.
