The Effect of Dose Rate and Radiation Type on Some Commercial TL Crystals

Abstract
In this study, thermoluminescence (TL) behaviors of some commercial TL dosimetric crystals (MCP-100, MCP-N, MTS-7, MTS-100 and MTS-N) under low and high radiation dose rates are investigated. In addition to this, the effects of different radiation types on the glow curve are also investigated. The peak intensities obtained from samples irradiated at low radiation doses are weaker than samples irradiated at high radiation doses. These results are normal evaluated together with fading experiments. On the other hand, some new glow peaks are observed and changes in peaks intensities are also observed in glow curves of samples exposed to alpha radiation.
