Determination of Product Quality Performance Using Standard Scores and a Study Case
Abstract :
The purpose of quality control charts is to detect abnormal behavior of quality variables and to determine the causes of quality problems using these abnormalities. Many variables of a product may not be directly comparable due to difference of their units. Comparison across different units is problematic. Therefore the data is standardized by various methods and converted to the same measurement unit. A very commonly used method to standardize the data is to convert to the new units with an average of zero and a standard deviation of one. In this work, the quality of a product is investigated by standardizing different and several measurable properties of a product. As a result of this study if was put forwarded that quality performances of the both fiber board were not good.
