Abstract :
The study was carried out to investigate the effects of different gibberellic acid levels (100, 300, 500, 700 ppm) and soaking times (30, 60 min.) on sprouting time, sprouting rate, the number of leaves, the time of flowering, flower diameter, flowering length, flowering time, flowering rate, plant length, floral stalk length, bulb number, bulb weight in tulip cv Cafe noir and Conquero in a glasshouse. %50 kompost, %30 perlite, %20 garden soil were used as growth media in the experiment. In the study, the effects of applications and varieties on growth, development, early harvest time and quality characters of tulip were significant. GA3 aplications showed significant differences in terms of flowering time, flowering rate, floral stalk length, plant length, number of bulbs and bulb weight. The effects of soaking times were also significant with respect to plant length and bulb weight. Sprouting rate was above 99% in all applications. The sprouting time in Conqueror variety was earlier 9 to 15 days than that in Cafe noir variety. The first flowering was observed 47-65 days after planting in all treatments. The first flowering was observed in Conqueror variety treated with 300 ppm GA3 for 60 minutes on 13 January and in Cafe noir variety treated with 700 ppm for 60 minutes on 31 January.
