Abstract :
In our time, one of the biggest expense items which are affecting operating costs is the transportation and shipping cost of the goods. In particular ther are many operating marble quarries in surrounding Isparta and Mediterranean region. Therefore mining operations cost reduction studies should be carried out urgently due to economic contribution of this and considering growing export of marble blocks. Most of the operating marble quarries are situated at mountainous or hilly regions with high altitude. For this reason of limited access, new roads to reach quarries must be build. This situation of transportation cost creates a major challenge for the marble sector. Investment for road making to the required mine quarry is costly due to the existing high slope gradients in the hilly region. Also cutting of trees can cause damage and harm to the ecological system. The high construction costs together with environmental pollution should be solved. Therefore combustion analysis is a vital process step to properly operate and control any combustion process in order to obtain the highest combustion efficiency with the lowest emissions of pollutants. This economic dependence on foreign fuel due to excessive use of fuel in cars and trucks every day has a negative effect on economy of the country. When considering all these factors, It became essential to find an alternative system which is more environmentally friendly and gives a solution by reducing transport and material removal costs by reducing expenses. This study was designed to find an alternative transportation system to the existing road transport system. In this study, energy cost of the alternative system is evaluated in consideration of alternative energy sources. As a result of comparison logical solutions are presented.
