Effects of T Shaped Groins on Coasts in the Eastern Black Sea Region
Abstract :
In the Eastern Black Sea Region, within the context of Black Sea Coastal Highway, which was finished in 2007, in order to prevent coastal erosion, T-shaped groins were constructed. The sediments, transported by streams, have generated new sandy beaches by means of the groins. In this study, depending on the bed bathymetry measurements, carried out in coastal areas with 4 T-shaped groins, depth contours are obtained depending on these contours, erosion and deposition generation at the updrift and downdrift locations of the groins are studied.
