Title Of Article :
The Calculation of Alpha Species Diversity in Forest Growth Environment and Their Relations with the Environmental Variables
Abstract :
This study was carried out regarding the calculation of alpha species diversity in forest growth environment. The alpha species diversity is an important component which expresses biological diversity in a region. By determining the alpha species diversity, valuable information can be obtained in terms of identifying potential distribution area for plant species of a region. In our study, alpha species diversities were calculated from the plant species of 40 sample plots, which were taken from Burdur- Altınyayla region. Then, the relationships between environmental variables and alpha species diversity were tried to be found with the help of correlation analysis. The most notable result is that a positive correlation was found between the elevation and alpha species diversities. In addition, vegetation data and environmental variables were examined by Detrended Correspondence Analysis (DCA) ; and while positive relationships were found concerning vegetation and aspect; negative relationships were seen between stony surfaces and plant species.
