Abstract :
In study, it was aimed to contribute to solve taxonomic problems of thegenus by examining the anatomy of stem and leaf of Marrubium lutescens Boiss.and M. cephalanthum Boiss. Noë subsp. akdaghicum belonging to genusMarrubium L. in the family Lamiaceae. The two types of preperation were done forlight microscopy. After stem and leaf in Paraffin were stained by Safranin‐FastGreen and semithins in Epoxy Resin were stained by Toluidine blue, they wereexamined by light microscopy and photographed. In both taxa the stem isquadrangular. It is surrounded by one sequenced epidermis having a thick cuticlelayer. There are 2‐3 sequenced lamellar collenchyma under epidermis in thecorners of stem. While leaf is bifacial in M. lutescens, it is unifacial in M.cephalanthum. Small bundles are collateral and leaf is amphistomatic. There areglandular and non glandular hairs on stems and on the upper and lower surfaces ofleaves. When anatomical results are compared it is figured out that these two taxaare close to each other.
