Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to theoretically investigate the efforts and studies within the field of internationalization in higher education in our country, from the curriculum development context. Thus, the relevant documents were analyzed in terms of the qualitative point of view. The concept of internationalization in higher education and the study of its dimensions, Bologna process, quality assurance, considering the concept of mobility in higher education programs were focused on. Analyzed Bologna joint statements, stakeholder institutions’ research studies, Turkish Higher Education Council’s reports, articles and theses related to topic were main sources in the study. The findings showed that internationalisation does not reach the target of more than academic qualifications alone, but this concept was associated with many parameters such as the physical environment of institutions, internal communication and management transparency. As a result of the benefits of internationalization as educational institutions were discussed within the context of increasing cross-border recognition of institutions, the place it deserves in the local and global higher education institutions of our country. Different suggestions were made regarding the necessary curriculum development process in higher education.
