Abstract :
Objective: In this study agreement in assessment of mandibular cortical index (MCI) among oral radiologists who has no previous experience on it was investigated. Material andMethod: Forty panoramic radiographs were examined independently on two sessions with one week interval by two oral radiologists following a lecture on the use of MCI. Inter- and intra-observer agreement was assessed by calculation of the kappa statistic. Results: Inter- and intra-observer agreement were good and excellent respectively. Conclusion: MCI can be used by oral radiologists who have no previous experience on it.
