EXTERNAL CERVICAL ROOT RESORPTION: A CASE REPORT

Abstract
This case report describes the treatment of an external root resorption in a maxillary central incisor tooth which was previously misdiagnosed and treated as a carious lesion. Because of the extensive resorption, a surgical treatment was performed. After the surgical curettage, the root canal was filled with gutta-percha and an epoxy resin-based sealer, and the cavity was restored using a resin composite material. At the 2.5 year follow- up examination the tooth was asymptomatic and radiographically showed no pathological progress of the restored resorption cavity.
