OLIGODONTIA: A REPORT OF THREE CASES

Abstract
As a developmental anomaly, oligodontia is a rare clinical picture which is characterized by congenitally missing of 6 or more teeth, excluding the third molars. Oligodontia might be related to various systemic disorders nevertheless it can be isolated. Various forms denoted to genetic transfer of oligodontia are defined, as well as its sporadic forms. Clinical and radiographic findings of three patients with missing teeth, referred to Dental Faculty at Istanbul University at different times and diagnosed with oligodontia, are presented in this report. Evaluation of congenital dental abnormalities particularly oligodontia, and following prosthodontic rehabilitation is vital in dental clinics. We hope this case report may add a significant contribution to the dental literature.
