Burning mouth syndrome
Abstract :
Burning mouth syndrome is a complex disorder and characterized by a painful burning or stinging sensation affecting the tongue or other intraoral sites. This may be related to systemic or local causes; or it may be seen in healthy individuals as well. Burningmouth syndrome hasmultiple etiologic factors. Age and sex are also important regarding its prevalence. Although many treatment options for burning mouth syndrome have been suggested in the literature, currently there is no agreed treatment protocol.
