Abstract :
Objective: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the oxidative status in children and adolescents with primer enurezis nocturna. Methods: 30 patients diagnosed with primer enurezis nocturna and 25 healthy children as control group were included in the study. Serum total oxidant status (TOS) and total antioxidant status (TAS) and oxidative stress index (OSI) were measured by the Erel method, and compared with control group. This parameters also compared in primer enuresis nocturna patients before and after supportive and desmopressin treatment. Results: TAS TOS and OSI levels of patients compared with control group. TOS and OSI levels of patients found statistically higher than controls (p 0.001), but there was not statistically significant difference between TAS levels (p 0.05). We cant find any difference for TAS TOS and OSI parameters in primer enuresis nocturna patients before and after supportive and desmopressin treatment (p 0.05). Conclusion: There is not any difference for TAS TOS and OSI parameters in primer enuresis nocturna patients before and after supportive and desmopressin treatment.
