Preliminary results of palynological investigations on Davutlar Coastal Plain (Kuşadası)
Abstract :
The aim of this study is to determine the environmental changes around the Kadıkalesi (Anaia) mound in the Holocene and to evaluate human-environment relationships. In accordance with this purpose, a core drilling performed on the Kamışlı Bataklık, placed on the south part of the plain, and a hundred of sediment samples obtained from core drillings were analyzed by palynological laboratory methods. Some of the samples, which is identified pollen and spore content, assessed in this study and prepared pollen diagram. Changes in AP/NAP ratio in pollen diagram is remarkable. AP pollen types decline conversely NAP in the diagram. In addition to this human indicators also increases in time.
