THE EFFECT OF CAREER MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON JOB SATISFACTION: A SURVEY FOR PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HEALTH WORKERS
Abstract :
This study aims whether there is the effect of career management practices in health care organizations on the health care employees job satisfaction or not and if that is, in which direction is it. In this context health care employees’ perceptions of career management and job satisfaction were examined. For this purpose literature related to the theoretical framework of the research is primarily presented. The survey was conducted in three public hospitals, one private hospital and other private healthcare priveder organization located in Sivas city. The survey was conducted on 358 health care employees who work in above mentioned health care organizations. In the survey part, collected data through questionnaire method related to the discussed problem was analyzed between independent groups by t-test, regression and correlation. According to the findings of job satisfaction and career management practices between public and private hospitals it was statistically determined that there are some differences in general. Also there is a positive correlation between job satisfaction and career management (0,449), and this correlation is statistically significant (P = 0, 000).
