THE ROLE OF THE PERCEIVED LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE ON CYNICISM IN ORGANIZATIONAL ENVİRONMENT: AN INVESTIGATION ON ATATURK UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
Abstract :
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the perceived level of confidence and cynicism in organizational environment. Trust means in organizational environment is that employees feel supported by the organization and their expectations are met by manager. However, cynicism is a thought system which puts forward workers’ negative attitudes towards organization. Based on conceptualized specified, a face to face interview method was applied to 301 administrative staff working in the faculties, colleges and vocational schools in Ataturk University’s main campus. The results obtained from the research reveal that workers’ perceived level of confidence toward organization and manager is effective on the emotional, cognitive and behavioral cynicism. Starting from the results, it can be said that employees have confidence in a medium level to the organization and that they were in a low level the attitude of cynicism against the organization.
