EU ADVANTURE OF SERBIA
Abstract :
Serbia is recognized as one of the most important countries of the Balkans in respect of both its historical background and its current situation. Serbia which is characterized by a group as a heart of Former Yugoslavia, aims to become a full member of the EU. Historically, although Serbia’s relations with the EU has been painful because of the war crimes and Kosova’s status. Serbia gained the potential candidate status of the EU in 2000 and signed the Stabilization and Association Agreement in 2008. Serbia became a candidate country for the full membership of the EU in 2012 and the country is proceeding full membership negotiations with the EU. This study will try to make some remarkable assessments on Serbia’s stakes in becoming a full member of the EU and the EU’s interests over Serbia.
