Investigation of the Use of Information and Communication Technology Tools in Primary School Mathematics Course from The Point of View of the Teacher
Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools in the mathematics learning process of primary school students in terms of teachers opinions. This study, in which qualitative research approach was used, was carried out with basic qualitative research design. The study group of the research, consists of 30 teachers selected among the teachers working in Diyarbakır or Şanlıurfa in the 2018-2019 academic year, using easily accessible sampling method. In the research, an open-ended interview form consisting of 8 questions was used as data collection tool. The data obtained from the tools were analyzed by using the descriptive analysis method. According to the results, teachers participated in the study use ICT tools and were most likely to use EBA, Okulistik, Morpa Campus, mobile applications. Teachers state; ICT tools are useful, offers rich content, positively affects students’ learning math lesson and it is very effective in forming a positive attitude towards this lesson. Teachers stated that they find ICT tools very effective and use these tools at various stages. Most of the teachers stated that they encouraged their students to use ICT tools outside of school, the others stated that they couldn’t encourage their students for various reasons.
