Abstract
In this study, detergent pollution levels were investigated in the surface waters obtained from various regions of Marmara Sea including Istanbul Strait and Dardanelles. Water samples belonging to 2013 winter season were studied as two parallels after obtained from 16 different stations. Detergent concentrations were at the range of 20,14 – 77,44 μg/L. The highest concentration was found at Kadıköy station and the lowest value was found at Anadolu Feneri. This case is related to stations having higher concentrations are located at around of wastewater treatment plants and discharge points of Istanbul which was reported by previous studies.
