Removal of 4-chlorophenol from aquatic system using Hydroxyapatite
Abstract :
In this study of hydroxyapatite produced by the method of chemical precipitation from aqueous solution with a 4-chlorophenol was removed. Hydroxyapatite Ca / P molar ratio was made to be 1.67. The synthesized powder at 1100 ° C has been calcined. Calcined powders were characterized by XRD, SEM-EDX, DTA-TGA and FT-IR techniques. Calcined hydroxyapatite was used for the removal of 4-chlorophenol in an aqueous medium. The equilibrium time of the adsorption of 4-chlorophenol, the effect of the initial concentration on the adsorption rate, the effect of the pH and the possibility of regeneration have been examined. 4-chlorophenol adsorbed hydroxyapatite was examined by the use of FT-IR, SEM-EDX, XRD, DTA-TGA analysis techniques after adsorption.
