Abstract :
Nowadays, coverings plays an important role to the selection of material. Covering modified is provides important advantages which is temperature, corrosion, oxidation and erosion in applications. In this study were investigated which used in the production of camshafts steel of AISI 4140 and gray cast iron covered with manganese phosphate effect on the corrosion behavior. In experiments steel of AISI 4140 and gray cast iron manganese phosphate covered samples of each half and other samples were not covered. Corrosion test was performed which as corrosive environments with the solution prepared by at 25°C and at 70°C, 0,5 M HCl and 0,5 M H2SO4. Test samples the solutions prepared were subjected to corrosion in 180 minutes and material weight losses are calculated. As a result of studies at high temperatures H2SO4 weight loss was greater in corrosive environments and manganese phosphate covering was shown to improve the corrosion resistance.
