Title Of Article :
Determination of Optimum Cutting Parameters in Sawing Process Using Diamond Cutting Disc by Taguchi Method
Abstract :
Diamond cutting discs have been exposed to various forces in cutting process of natural stones. The disc is forced in effect of these forces and undesired failures occur. These failures are dramatically declined with selection of suitable parameters. Sometimes, the selection is impossible for having a lot of variable in the cutting process. Therefore, many experiments must be performed. In this study, optimum cutting parameters of diamond cutting disc used sawability of natural stones have been determined by using Taguchi method. Firstly, experiments were carried out different natural stones and cutting parameters. Power consumption, noise, specific energy and cutting forces were determined in the experiments. Variance analyses (ANOVA) of the variables obtained by using the experiments were performed and tables were prepared. Optimum parameters were determined using the analysis. In the results, the most effective parameters were determined as depth of cut. It was showed that having an important effect on cutting forces, power consumption and specific energy of natural stone type.
