Experimental Investigation of Tribological Properties of Polymers Bearing Material
Abstract :
In this study, experimental studies were carried out to investigate the usage of polymer materials(Kestamid, Kestamid/HS, Kestoil, Kestlub, Ulpolen 1000 (UHMWPE)) as a journal bearing. 3 differentlevel shaft rotation speed, load and time were used in the study. During the experiments we measured friction force, friction coefficient and surface roughness. Polymer based materials uses in the area which doesn’t allowed lubricants. The usage of the engineering polymers especially Kestoil can be suggested as a journal bearing material when the lowest friction coefficent is taken into consideration. Taguchi method used for gets decision fort the experimental parameters.
