The Estimation of Gravity Values by the Back Propagation Artificial Neural Networks
Abstract :
Since the days of mankind, many studies have been done to obtain information about the shape, surface, and the contents of the world. Throughout the history, the shape of the world is likened to objects like a tray and egg. In the light of scientific and technical studies, it is concluded that the shape of the Earth is geoid, which can be expressed mathematically and physically. One of the methods used for determining geoid is geoid determination method with gravity values. The objective of this study is to investigate the utility of the Back Propagation Artificial Neural Networks (BPANN) for the calculation of gravity values. 23 terrestrial gravity values obtained from the stations located in 6 states in the United States of America will be calculated with the use of BPANN and Global Geopotential Model (GGM).
