Abstract :
When the different properties are required, the different materials should be used together. Type of material, welding method and filler metal used in the joining of different materials are important factors which affect the joining quality. Therefore, the Hardox steel that have high wear resistance and toughness and P460NL1 pressure vessel steel that have high working temperature resistance were welded with gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and electric arc welding (EAW) methods. The mechanical properties of dissimilar steels weldment were determined by tensile, bending and Charpy impact tests and the hardness measurement was carried out. In addition, the microstructure of the dissimilar steel weldment was examined so the mechanical properties associated with microstructure are determined.
