Abstract :
Researchers are currently working on many systems controlled via smart phones together with theapplication of technological advances in everyday life. Under the scope of these studies, to improve the living standards of people with disabilities and to provide a more comfortable life are aimed. Research, development and innovations which will be made for disabled people provide great convenience in living conditions. According to TUIK data rate (2012) in our country, disabled people are 12.29% and many of these disabilities are physical disabilities. In this study, control of wheelchair with smart phone was carried out. Wheelchair android program can be used on any android device. Wheelchair control is carried out by using PIC18F4550 and MIT App Inventor 2 Program. PIC controlled card and android device were communicated with the HC‐SR06 bluetooth module and the control was realized. To provide the security of the user while the backward movement, PIR sensor was placed on the back of the wheelchair. Battery‐operated wheelchair moves with nine different android commands which are forward, back, left, right, speed up, slow down, stop, turn and run via android device.
