Abstract :
This article is about the action of 2-aminobenzimidazole 1 on 4-arylidene-2-methyl(phenyl)oxozolin-5-one 2a-d in n-butanol. The reaction leads to pyrimido[1,2-a]benzimidazoles 3a-d expected with satisfying yield. We also showed that the obtained results are not dependable on the nature of the substituent in position 2. The derivative 3b has been alkylated within solid-liquid phase transfer catalysis conditions. The structures of obtained different components have been determinated via spectroscopic process and X-rays diffraction namely in case of compound 5. The obtained pyrimido[1-2a]benzimidazoles as their analogous are likely to be applicable in the pharmacological field.
