The environmental engineering departments and education in Turkey
Abstract :
Environmental problems originated from industrial development and population growth have become important since 1970s. In our country, the first Environmental Engineering Department which aimed to remove or minimise these problems as the other Environmental Engineering Departments in the other countries was established in 1973 at Middle East Technical University. The numbers of Environmental Engineering Departments have reached to 35 today. In this study, general information was given about Environmental Engineering Departments in our country and courses and faculty member numbers of these departments were compared.
