Abstract
Oxygen is a necessary element for all forms of life. A higher dissolved oxygen level indicates beter water quality. Hydraulic structures have an impact on the amount of dissolved oxygen in a flow, even though the water is in contact with the structure for only a short time. Such as a spillway, occurs by self-aeration along in the hydraulic jump at the downstream. Stepped chute where occurs oxygen transfer taking place along the steps. This experimental study; the aeration efficiency and flow regime of stepped spillways with end sill which different dimensions and geometry investigated in large laboratory stepped spillways. The results indicated that sill dimensions and geometry had a significant effect on the oxygen transfer performance of stepped spillways.
